Quake Global launches data modem for fixed, mobile apps

Modem manufacturer Quake Global has launched the Q4000 satellite data modem designed for fixed and mobile applications.

The Q4000 provides global M2M communications with land, marine or aviation based assets and equipment such as heavy machinery, trucks, ships and containers. The Q4000 is also suited for predictive maintenance, hours of service and DOT compliance. Isolated power substations and remote metering facilities can also be monitored and managed. The modem can communicate across any satellite or terrestrial network and is customisable. Features include multiple network configurations and optional GPS to serve a variety of markets and price points and options include CAN bus, memory, antenna detection, multiple analogue and digital inputs/outputs and relays.

The Q4000 enables OEMs and system integrators to create customised onboard applications. The Application Programming Interface supports Quake Messaging Manager, enabling programmers to develop their custom applications, which in turn function regardless of the desired network or protocol, without the need for additional programming.
