UHF radio modem boasts a range of 50 km

Adeunis RF has launched a new UHF radio modem. With a rated power of up to 4 W and a sensitivity of -117 dBm, the ARF73 has a range of 50 km with the included standard antenna. It allows users to benefit from the advantages of licensed professional radio (confidentiality and security) at a very low price.

The ARF73 provides a reliable radio link that is ideal for critical communication that cannot afford to depend on the availability other channels, such as a mobile telephone network.

The ARF73 operates in the licensed professional band (400–470 MHz) and provides 16 pre-programmed channels with 12.5-kHz (optionally 25 kHz) channel spacing. The data rate on the air interface is 4800, 7680, or 9600 bits/s, with transparent RS232 or RS422 data transfer. The modem is approved for operation in Europe.

It is designed for applications requiring long-distance transmission, such as monitoring irrigation systems, managing public lighting systems, and transmitting roadside data; for use in difficult communication conditions, such as densely populated urban environments and noisy industrial areas; and for applications requiring a secure radio link, such as mimic displays of alarm systems at remote sites or replacing outdated or expensive landline links for telemetry data.

The ARF73 modem can easily be configured using AT commands via the serial port. It is available with an IP65 enclosure and ready for immediate use. On a single PCB, it combines a radio transceiver and signal processing circuitry and supports a wide range of supply voltages (9 to 28 V). The modem is supplied with a cable with a D-sub connector and a power supply unit, as well as a 5 dBi half-wave antenna with a 5-m interconnecting cable.

Adeunis RF can assist users in the formalities of obtaining an operating licence for the modem.
