Verizon Wireless has unveiled the AD3700 Mobile Broadband USB Modem, a world-roaming 3G modem that works in the U.S. and abroad.
The ZTE-manufactured device hooks onto Verizon's EV-DO Rev A network here, as well as EDGE and HSDPA/UMTS networks overseas. VZW bundles the unit with connection management software, and the modem can auto-detect the fastest available network at any time, according to Verizon.
The modem will be available beginning today for $79.99 after a mail-in rebate and a $60-per-month data plan (with a 5GB data cap each month). No word yet on pricing for international roaming, but you can bet it won't be cheap.Originally posted to the PCMag.com @Work blog.
