A few months I have problems with the use of 3G Telkomsel Flash modem that branded Huawei E220 model. The problem, in a personal notebook computer, a modem is not detected at all.
This is rather strange, considering that notebook computers are used in offices, modem 3G Telkomsel Flash is branded Huawei E220 model can be detected well.
At first, I think that this is due to problems with the cable between the computer modem. I think that the notebook computer does not give the house enough electrical power to the 3G Telkomsel Flash is branded Huawei E220 model is that the modem failed to inform his existence to the computer.
With this assumption, the time is not known to exist, I looked for an additional connecting cable from the modem package 3G Telkomsel Flash is branded Huawei E220 model, which comprises one end of the two slots / plugs into the computer. According to the instructions, this cable is useful to provide additional electrical power (probably) needed by the modem.
The result?
Bablas. 3G Modem Telkomsel Flash is branded Huawei E220 model will still not be detected.
Minimal research on the Internet, I discovered that quite a lot of users are experiencing the same problem, namely 3G modem Huawei E220 model fails to detect the computer.
The research also shows that some users find that after they upgrade the modem firmware, there is a successful "turn on" re-3G Huawei E220 modem that.
But there are also some who fail. Firmware upgrade process is including the "high risk" because of the failure of the upgrade process sometimes means destruction of the hardware that is difficult to repair.
But in fact, for me, that's not the solution. My solution is simpler again.
Want to know?
Apparently, in the home notebook computer, drive D: which was previously a "home" removable storage from 3G modem, somehow have been replaced by a new removable hard disk storage that I recently installed.
So, what I do is to re-assign a removable hard disk drives from drive D: to another drive, in my case is to drive M:. How to do re-assign the drive is to select the Start menu => Control Panel => Administrative Tools => Computer Management => Disk Management, then select the drive you want to move it.
Then I plugged back 3G modem Huawei E220 into the USB port of your home computer, and voila! Modem is detected as drive D:, all the driver files there, and I had to install the modem drivers again. Modem is already "dead" was finally able to live again.
WITHOUT firmware upgrade!
So, for you who have problems like me, try to do the things I have tried this. Hopefully can "turn on" re Huawei 3G modem your E220 model.
