The LevelOne 54M MobilSpot Portable Wireless Hotspot (3G/3.5G), known by model number WBR-3800, is not your average 3G router. Most of the vendors in its 3G modem compatibility list are European, Australian and Asian; it only supports six 3G modems sold in the US. While it works fine with select vendors in the U.S. (specifically a handful of EV-DO modems from Novatel, Sierra Wireless, and Verizon Wireless), the product's real market is overseas. It offers a good combination of 3G with 802.11b/g (sadly not the faster 802.11n) Wi-Fi for frequent travelers. The price is a little high ($140 street), but its versatility makes up for most of its shortcomings.
