Some tips to strengthen the WiFi signal

Wireless router is no longer a new thing and maybe most Internet users already have this tool at home to sharing a wireless internet connection (wireless).

This time, we will try to discuss problems / constraints that may be frequently encountered by the users of the wireless router signal strength in the wireless router.

How to make Wi-Fi signal can reach the optimal or a wider area? Here are a few things to note:

1. Place the Wireless Router in the middle of the room

Since most wireless routers using Omni Directional antenna types (spread in all directions), the wireless router should be placed in the middle of the room so he could reach every corner of the room.

2. Note the placement of the wireless router

Do not place the wireless router on the floor, adjacent to the wall or adjacent to the object containing iron (metal) because all it will reduce the existing signal strength. The closer you put the three things above, will be the weaker signal.

3. Replace existing antennas on the Wireless Router

As we said in point no. 1 that as a router using Omni Directional antenna types that are spread in all directions. If indeed you often use in the room or corner of the antenna of this type is suitable, but if you use it more often in places which, perhaps replacing the antenna can further strengthen the signal.

One example of the antenna to the above problem is the High Gain Antenna where nature spread only to a point so that your signal will get better but we suggest that you can often switch places.

4. Change the Wireless network adapter, with a better

If you use a computer (not notebook), you must install the Wireless Network Adapter in it. Make sure that the Network Adapter you use good enough and can also replace the existing antenna with a better quality as the High Gain Antenna above.

5. Add Wireless Repeater if necessary

Although the antenna has been replaced with something better does not mean you can reach more distant locations. To that sometimes we need additional tools called Wireless Repeater.

Wireless Repeater allows you to strengthen and extend existing WiFi signal so that a wider range, for example with regular antenna, signal coverage reaches only 100 m, but with this, could signal range that is 2x longer 200m or more.

But it was for the addition of a tool like this, we have to spend quite a lot of money.
6. Changing existing Wireless Channel

WiFi signals can be run on several channels at once, if you feel there is a signal that is less good and found many channels in it, you should change to a smaller channel.

And not have to worry about this channel because replacement of the computer / notebook will menditeksi and adjusts automatically when there is change channels.

7. Keep Wireless Router from certain electronic devices

Wifi signal work in the 2.4 GHz frequency, for that you should keep your router from the wireless electronic devices that use the same frequency.

For example telephone cordeless (without cable) is usually also use the same frequency of 2.4 GHz. If this happens, you inevitably have to replace it with a cordless phone that uses different frequencies such as 900 MHz cordless phone or replace a regular telephone, this cheaper solution.

8. Always perform firmware updates for your Wireless Router

Usually every producer who is perhaps best known as D-Link, Linksys and others are always out the latest firmware for your router to router performance to be better. Perform the firmware upgrade is usually provided on their website.

9. Use the same brand for your wireless network

Although an outline, use a different brand for the network devices (routers, adapters) do not experience any problems, but usually the signal would be better if we use a single brand.

For example your router brand Linksys, Wireless Adapter, which should be used in computers also use the same brand.

10. WiFi types of upgrading to 802.11g from 802.11b

We believe some network owners already use the format type G Wifi but if you are still using the 802.11b type you should replace or at least make all the WiFi networks using the same format.

It's already a promising 802.11n transfer rates faster and reach farther, but it should be noted that the format of N has not yet been certified.
