SonyEricsson Z550i utilize as a Modem

After a few days ago dapet pinjeman SonyEricsson Z550i mobile phone from temen and I try to use it as a modem, now I try to create a simple review of this SE phone. As before, the phone SE K750i and SE Z520i, I still use the help of Sony Ericsson PC Suite 2:10:46 and GSM card Telkomsel Flash Unlimited package.



As for the operating system I use is Windows XP SP2 on a Toshiba laptop (Pentium M). Other equipment I use is the data cable DCU-60 original.



As usual, the first step taken is to setup a connection to the SE PC Suite (the steps are the same for SE phones and can be applied to other SE phones). After the phone is detected by the SE PC Suite, we went to Mobile Networking Wizard, followed by making a new connection by choosing File>> New Connection.

Select Packet Switched Data to use existing GPRS connection on your mobile phone (SE Z550i phone support 3G yet). Then select Modem SE Z550i which has been detected as a modem (Sony Ericsson Device 125 USB WMC Modem), give the name of the connection in accordance with our wishes.

Next we went on stage charging connection parameters, as before, I chose Manual selection mode on the provider. APN (Access Point Name) I am content with the Internet (I use the card package of Telkomsel Flash Unlimited), then for my username and password blank. For other card insert appropriate parameters of its GSM cards.

When finished, now try to connect with the Connect icon in the Mobile Networking Wizard. After the connection is connected, the system tray will provide a connection notification.

To test the connection, I tried using Speedtest.net. From the test results, with SE Z550i mobile phone as a modem, I get download speeds of 0.04 Mbps (about 40 Kbps) and upload speeds of 0.02 Mbps (about 20Kbps).
