Wireless modem with a GPS receiver and Card Reader


Huawei Technologies and Sony Ericsson have been working together to launch a wireless modem using the network HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) that tries to more than just a modem.
Product Huawei E180 modem and the modem that is owned by Sony Ericsson MD400 and MD400g has emerged in the form of a USB (Universal Serial Bus) stick and card reader features a built-in. One of the products Sony Ericsson is also providing technology features GPS (Global Positioning System).

"Both companies will begin to try to distinguish which of their products to be so they do not need to price competition.", Said Mark Newman, head of research at Informa Telecoms and Media, a media market research company information.

The GPS function of the products that Sony Ericsson MD400g akan integrated with Google Maps. MD400g also has a Memory Stick Micro M2 and microSD slot, so that the modem can work as a card reader or memory stick. Like with other products from Sony Ericsson MD400 is simple and has a card slot although not with the GPS support. Features of both products have the antenna that will improve performance and protect the USB connector when the modem is not used.

Huawei E180 has a thickness of 10mm, also features the MicroSD card slot with the USB connector, which can be played as much as 120 degrees. USB connectors also can be stored safely without requiring additional masks. E180 also supports uplink bandwidth with the speed of 5.76Mbps and downlink 7.2Mbps. Modem Sony Ericsson also support a-speed downlink the same, but the uplink 2Mbps. MD400 and MD400g akan launched starting around the fourth quarter of this year. While the E180 will start to attend the end of June and the problems have not yet confirmed the price of the Huawei. (H_n)
